Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working for Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a Mechanical Handling Engineer to work initially for 6 months at Plymouth PL2.
As a Mechanical Handling Engineer, your duties and responsibilities will include:
Principal Tasks and Responsibilities
Within SQEP profile, preparing and/or checking designs, analyses, reports, drawings, specifications and other documents in support of Nuclear and Non-Nuclear related plant, facility and equipment within the company's licensed, authorised and operational sites, or in support of external contracts.
Support the review and sentencing of new designs, methodology of construction and temporary works submitted to the Technical Authority.
Supporting planning of activities, with respect to task durations, level of effort and estimated costs, through to provision of design deliverables with regular schedule reviews and progress reporting, utilising Earned Value Management methodologies, and construction support.
Support development, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of Facilities to ensure that they comply with the design intent and DSP's for Nuclear related works, together with all relevant Local and National Regulations and Legislation.
Support the on-site inspection of DRDL assets for their construction, maintenance and modification.
Design of mechanical safety systems, codes and standards such as BS2573 and BS130001 and JSPs relevant to mechanical equipment.
Design of equipment to be compliant with the machinery (safety) directive

Candidate:
You willl be an experienced Mechanical Handling Engineer.
At least 5-10years experience in a similar role.
Ideally Degree qualified or Chartered Engineer. 
Security level required: SC is required (maybe reviewed if no currently cleared candidates are available) *note SC clearance that has not been used recently may have lapsed.
