Geo-technical Engineer; Fixed Term – 3 Months; City Of London ;  to £375-400/day
Key Words/Skills: Scoping Engineer, Geo-technical, Mechanical, Thames Basin, On-Site.

The Role:
Prepare a technical specification for ground investigation phase(s) for Lower Thames Crossing scheme and applicable to other HE’s schemes such as The A303 road improvement. 
Define and produce the scoping specification for the Long-Term core storage of LTC and other HE major projects ground investigation.
Identifying and reviewing the long-term “cores” storage arrangements of other large UK infrastructure projects like Thames Tideway Tunnel, Crossrail & HS2.
Method of preparing, archiving/labelling the cores/cores containers to allow unequivocal identification, retrieval, etc;
Method of storage of the “cores” to preserve them over the storage period in a condition as close as possible to their delivered condition.
Characteristics of the “core” storage facility including establishment, maintenance and operational requirements;
Inspection, traceability and auditing of the cores and storage facility;
Record to be produced during the storage period regarding the “cores” storage to monitor and guarantee their long-term secure retention;
Strategy for disposal of cores (that might include contaminated soil).
Have experience in scoping, procurement, commercial management and supervision of ground investigations.

The Candidate:
Must hold a degree in Geology Engineering Geology or Geo-technical Engineering  or equivalent
Must hold a valid CSCS Card
Significant on-site experience.
Experienced with NEC3 Contract.
Experienced in working within the London Basin Geology.
Know the limitations and potential problems with drilling through the Thames Basin and the underlying chalk.
