The Role:
Our Client MOD at Abbey Wood are looking to recruit a Naval Architect with submarine experience.
The post requires a professional Naval Architect with naval (submarine) experience to apply specialist knowledge, as the intelligent customer, in the area of submarine hydromechanics.
The focus will be on reviewing and assessing submarine hydromechanic safety submissions and managing technical development tasks.
Conduct or have knowledge of Naval Architecture Safety Studies including: Lifeboats & davits, Walkways, escape and evacuation, collision studies, navigation lights and Field of View from bridge.
Have a key role in assuring the successful delivery of the following Naval Architectural tasks:
Model Tests, Technical Specification, Weight Control, Trim and Stability and Fire Protections Studies.
From the Structural side, engineering tasks may include: Fatigue, Sea Loads, Accommodation, Integration of Helideck & Lifeboats, Offloading & Towing Studies and Scantling drawing updates.

The Candidate:
You will be a Degree qualified / Chartered Engineer
You will have at least 10 years experience as a Naval Architect
Due to the nature of the work, you must be a British national and hold or be able to get SC Clearance
