The Role:
Our client, Babcock Marine, require four experienced Nuclear Standards Inspectors to uphold the highest safety and quality standards relating to nuclear steam raising plant and working practices within reactor compartments.
The role is based with the Nuclear Standards Branch at HMNB Devonport, Plymouth – one of the largest and most active naval bases in the world.

Duties will involve:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

RC Administration, (I.A.W. SBU(D)-MAN-036)
Providing independent oversight of work on the NSRP
Undertaking in-process inspections
Controlling material - suitability and compatibility, for use on the Nuclear Primary Plant
Controlling Primary Containment, (logging breaches) 
Undertaking Remote Visual Inspection, (RVI)
Coordination/controlling of corrosion control on Vanguard class boats
SCC/EAC Categorisation
Weld Acceptance/Audits
Co-ordinating Nuclear Procedures
Controlling Nuclear Primary Plant systems integrity 
RC Environmental control, (non-radiological)
RC Husbandry (for cleanliness and H&S)
Receipt Inspection of designated Stores
Swabbing of Primary Plant
Overseeing refuel and defuel activities
Checking and completion of quality documentation
Providing advice and guidance to NSB customers regarding standards, methods and requirements for carrying out work on the NSRP.

The Candidate: 
Critically, you’ll have active SC (Security Check) clearance, as well as relevant nuclear refitting support experience, covering the equivalent of a complete LOP project or two RAMP projects, or equivalent recent relevant experience of operating nuclear plant and facilities. This includes adherence to written systems of work and working in radiologically controlled areas.
You’ll possess the following qualifications;
Welding Institute Standards 3 – Introduction to Welding and NDT 
Liquid Penetrant PCN level 2 
CSWIP 3.0 Weld Visuals 
NSRP Component Stain Categorisation 
ASQEP 
BTEC Level 3 Engineering or equivalent.
