Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Magnox in order to recruit a Nuclear Waste Engineer to work on a 12 month contract at Dover Kent.
As a Nuclear Waste Engineer your duties/responsibilities will include:

Key requirements:
- Has the experience and knowledge to instruct Health Physics monitoring technicians in the collection of survey data and in processing and packaging of waste material.
- Has a good appreciation of the various disposal and treatment options available to the Nuclear industry in management of Low Level Waste (LLW), and how to access them.
- Has experience and a good understanding in how to apply survey, assay and characterization data in the assessment and sentencing of radioactive materials.

Nuclear Waste Engineer (Inside IR35) |
Dover | Engineering | Start: ASAP | Duration: 12 months

As a Waste Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Provision of technical support within the Waste Management organisation
Providing technical support to projects and relay the clear expectations of waste management
Providing authoritative advice for internal and external stakeholders
Carrying out timely investigation of events as required and identify improvements
Committing to continuous improvement of waste programmes/strategies
Contributing to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism
The design, delivery and evaluation of training, acting as coach and mentor
Complying with the Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies, procedures, work instructions and risk assessments
Possibly to be required to fulfil a role in the Site Emergency Scheme

You’ll have:

An HNC/HND or equivalent technical qualification (NQF Level 5) in a scientific, environmental or engineering discipline
Knowledge of environmental issues including practices, policies, legislation and stakeholders relating to radioactive and non-radioactive waste management
Relevant experience in the nuclear industry in areas of waste management
Ideally, a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor Certificate
Ideally, an International Movement of Dangerous Goods Certificate
It would be useful to have experience in developing waste inventories together with records management

Candidate:
You will be an experienced Nuclear Engineer.
HNC / HND
5 years experience +.
