Overview
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Network Rail to recruit a Planner to work on a 6 month contract in SE1 London.
As a Planner your responsibilities and duties will include:
 
Purpose of the ASPRO team
The team presents the “Front Face” of NWR to the external clients, and as such, has a responsibility in managing client expectations in a professional and effective manner but , at the same time, to ensure that the railway is safeguarded from any ill effects from the external projects.

Scope of the ASPRO Team
The ASPRO team manages hundreds of projects. These projects encompass a huge variety of types and values. Projects range from a few hundreds of thousands to hundreds of millions of pounds of external client expenditure. Types of projects include asset protection to bridges, tunnels, residential and commercial developments, statutory undertakers’ crossings, level crossing alterations, electricity pylons, telecoms masts and a host of others, including major schemes such as Crossrail, as well as hundreds of minor schemes which need a fairly rapid response. The essential theme of all these projects is that they must have some impact on the railway that needs project managing by the team in order to reduce the risk to NWR.

Establish the interface with external parties including undertaking initial risk assessment of outside and third party works. Provide initial guidance, identifying who the Construction Design Management Client is, and liaising with all duty holders.
Provide safety and technical advice and conditions to outside and third parties to enable them to comply with Network Rail policy and standards.
Interpret and evaluate development intentions of outside and third parties, identifying areas of potential risk and providing direction and advice for the design and safe implementation of the works. Support and liaise with the Network Rail construction staff as required on each project.
Establish outside and third party deliverables. Identify shared goals and opportunities for shared value, whilst seeking to minimise risk.
Support the Asset Protection team with, and contribute to, the development of process to provide an effective and efficient service in accordance with service level agreements.
Provide support to, and participate in, investigations of incidents involving unplanned or unauthorised outside/third party activities whilst on or about the operational railway and infrastructure.
Facilitate and support Commercial Property in responding to proposed external planning applications which may adversely affect Network Rail.
Manage the response to Commercial Property technical clearance proposals for land use by external parties whilst safeguarding Network Rail’s infrastructure and operational requirements.

Essential
Degree level
Advanced Excel and data analysis ability
Rail and construction experience
Previous successful experience of outside and third party engagements
Demonstrable understanding of CDM and Health & Safety
Commercial, financial and contractual awareness and experience in cost estimating, forecasting and working to budgets and commercial/contractual/ financial criteria.

Candidate:
You will be an experienced Planner.
Rail experience - essential.
