The Role:
Babcock Marine are looking for Planning Manager to head a Project Planning team at HMNB Devonport, Plymouth to manage the business unit’s planning capability and manage the staff requirements ensuring the team is run effectively. Planning services will be provided to large-scale infrastructure projects with individual packages including infrastructure improvements, construction services, demolitions and site establishment amongst others.

Duties will involve:
Organisation and management of planning capability for the business unit.
Management a portfolio of project programmes and supporting Planning Engineers/Junior Planning Engineers, including supervision and checking of work to ensure that all work complies with company standards and procedures.
Acting as mentor to Planning resource to assist in their personal development.
Review of planning capability requirements and interview/recruit resources accordingly.

The Candidate:
Minimum 10 years’ planning experience in a project-based engineering environment using Primavera planning software.
Project planning and change management for small/medium/large sized projects.
Experience of managing project planning teams/business units.
Worked in a tender planning environment.
SC clearance is desirable and the candidate must be eligible for this level of clearance if not currently held.
