Portfolio Planner; 5mth contract, £400.00/day Ltd; Newcastle - Upon - Tyne
KEY Skills: Portfolio Planner, Public Sector

The Role:
Portfolio Planner required by DEFRA to join their team in Newcastle to develop and maintain plans and schedules for the portfolio and its contained programmes and projects.
You will lead the planning team to develop and maintain programme plans, ensuring compliance from project/programme managers through the delivery group forum.

Duties will include:
Development of fully resourced and costed programme plans using data provided by the portfolio, programme and project management teams.
Maintain plans and schedules of reporting for the portfolio.
Monitor progress and refine plans and schedules, implementing change and configuration control systems as appropriate.
Identify and monitor interdependencies within the portfolio and contained plans.
Provide progress reports to each Programme Manager, to include performance and schedule information.
Identification of key variances within programmes and presentation of effective and compelling data in support of findings.
Critical path analysis and trend forecasts.
Provide assistance for Portfolio Manager, Programme Managers and Bid Managers.
Other duties as required –  liaison with sub-contractors, collating progress information and project programme updates.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Portfolio Planner with experience of working in a Change/PMO environment.
You will have experience of leading a planning team, developing and maintaining programme plans.
Previous experience of working in ether Central Government or the Public Sector is highly desirable.
You will be ideally qualified to HNC/degree level.
