The Role:
There is a requirement to modify a number of SRC and 15 Dock services and structures in order to provide a sustainable Fleet time docking capability in Devonport Dockyard. 
The purpose of this Programme is to provide a flexible organisation to coordinate, direct and oversee all of the projects and activities necessary to safely deliver the above outcome to time cost and quality. 

15 Dock, within the SRC, has been identified as the designated dock Fleet time docking of in-service submarines. The Fleet Time Docking capability is key to sustaining submarines at sea.

Duties will involve:
As Responsible Engineer for Mechanical Handling Systems, the successful candidate will ensure systems are designed against a clear statement of compliance with defined Requirements, including demonstration that the design meets relevant Health Safety & Environmental and specified Nuclear Safety requirements.

The Candidate: 
Ideally, you’ll have strong, demonstrable experience of the following;
Design of cranes in Nuclear Regulated environment with proven experience in substantiation thereof; 
Knowledge of lifting techniques, processes etc. applicable to a Nuclear Licensed production environment; 
Design of conventional mechanical handling equipment to support production activities within a graving dock facility, particular focus on materials handling and flow required. 
Control and protection systems (including SIL rated).
Seismic analysis of mechanical handling systems.
Substantiation of high integrity mechanical handling systems.
Active Security Check (SC) clearance will be an advantage, otherwise you must be eligible to attain SC clearance.
