The Role:
Our client seek a Public Sector / Home Office Specialist Programme Manager to be based in Liverpool on behalf of the DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) and be responsible for leading a collection of programmes or projects that contribute to the delivery of departmental or business area objectives.  
The successful candidate will responsible for the prioritisation and effective allocation of resources across the portfolio and ensure optimal delivery of departmental / business strategic objectives in line with government priorities.   The role will involve;

·Occasional travel to other sites, including the North East
·Working closely with colleagues who are planning and tracking progress of the programme to ensure an up to date picture is maintained 
·Ensuring that actions are progressed and highlighting areas where insufficient information is likely to cause a problem. 
·Pro-actively identifying likely problems which may hinder delivery and suggesting solutions to the Programme management. 
·Ensure that the Programme risk register is updated on a regular basis and that the information captured is up to date and can be reported on in an efficient manner. 
·Design and creation of highlight & checkpoint reports for Programme and Steering Boards (e.g. Programme dashboards; minutes and presentation slides). 
·Management of the product management and risk management processes. Ensure that there is robust adherence to PPM processes including planning; risk management; dependency management and change control. Management of the change control procedure. 

The Candidate:
Essential:
·Experience of managing complex projects and programmes and the use of portfolio management as a tool for managing organisational change
·Strong Leadership skills
·Risk Management experience 

Desired:
·Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner (MSP)
·PRINCE2 Practitioner 
·P3O Practitioner 
·APM Registered 
·Project Professional Project Leadership Programme
