Project Manager

6 month contract for a Civil Project Manager to work with the Department for Education on Priority School Building Projects based in Manchester

The Role:
Oversee  the delivery of the technical adviser’s scope of services and the role will include as a minimum:
Ensure the desktop review of all existing project information is undertaken prior to the first school visit in order to inform this visit.
Assist the school with the preparation of the strategic brief.
Confirm that the school is given the required level of support in relation to furniture, fittings and equipment  and ICT procurement.
Production of a suite of procurement documents including PITT, ITT and contract schedules.
Oversee the contractors proposals review process.


The Candidate:
You will hold a membership of a professional body i.e. ICE, Chartered Institute of Building.
Have the ability to organise and manage time and prioritise work effectively whilst delivering a large number of projects.
Negotiate, influences and persuades within and outside the organisation at a senior level in order to achieve required results.
Constructively identify opportunities for improving the delivery of the Priority School Building Programme and work effectively with others to continually review these in the light of changing policy.
Works and makes decisions independently, but within clear guidelines and understands when it is appropriate to escalate issues.
