Project Manager – c18month+ Contract - rate £Neg/hour (inside IR35) - Stockport

Project Manager required to oversee town centre regeneration projects that include local road improvements and public realm works 

As Project Manager you will be responsible for administering and supervising a number of projects simultaneously undertaken by the councils Alliance Framework Contractors with construction values ranging from £10k to £10m

Additional duties include: 

  • Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan that embraces all elements of the project
  • Using project management techniques, to enable early identification of problems and implementation of mitigation actions
  • Assisting with control of the health, safety and well-being of the project team
  • Assist in managing project controls through the client systems
  • Assist in managing the interface between the Client and Consultants, and to manage all progress reporting and cost controls 
  • Forecasting and cost to complete reporting to client 
  • Assist in producing documentation to support each stage of the project
  • Assist in managing effect of any changes of scope
  • Monitor project resource against schedule
  • Report on project progress and on completion
  • Arrangement and coordination of regular internal / external project meetings

The candidate: 
You will be an experienced Project Manager with previous experience of civil public realm and or town centre enhancement projects. You will be qualified to Degree / HNC / HND in Architectural or Civil or Structural Engineering. 

You will have some design background combined with previous site supervision experience of local roads and drainage projects. 
In addition, you will have: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – verbal & written 
  • Financial or cost control management experience
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including MS project
  • Previous experience of managing NEC3 contracts - desirable
