The Role:
Our client, the UK arm of a multi-national project management and engineering consultancy, is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to handle all aspects of Cost Management within their commercial team.
In addition, you’ll ideally be capable of acting as a Project Manager in support of your main duties as a QS.
Our client is unique in that they are independent and employee-owned.

Duties will involve:
As a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be the commercial team’s QS primarily responsible for all aspects of cost management, working on multi-site projects ranging in value from £200k to £10m.
There’s also a secondary function requiring you to be capable of acting as the Project Manager on several ongoing projects and work packages.
The industry sectors you’ll be working within will include Housing, Healthcare, Culture/Leisure and Education.

The Candidate:
Ideally, you’ll have at least five years’ experience working as a QS within the industry sectors described above.
Your CV will be biased towards previous PQS consultancy work, though some contractor-side experience will be okay.
Good pre- and post- contract experience is considered essential, as is experience of working within multi-site projects with multi-million-pound values.
Demonstrable experience of working as a Project Manager will be a strong advantage, as will the ability to use both MS Project and AutoCAD effectively.
Someone who is able to work with autonomy, flexibility, process awareness and a logical, problem-solving mindset would be a good fit within the team.
