The Role:
Our client Babcock DST are looking to recruit an experienced Quality Engineer to work on a contract basis initially for a 6month contract based in Bristol.
The role requires you to be responsible for assessing and recommending sentences for nonconformities arising during the manufacture of Weapon Handling and Launch System (WHLS) equipment for the UK and overseas navies.
The creation of required Project Quality documentation, Quality Plans and Manufacturing Inspection Plans.
Review and approval of Quality related documents both internally and from the supply chain. Provide assistance in the generation of Project Plans and Documentation, e.g. Project Management Plans and Specifications.
Undertake Design Assurance Activities including attendance at Design and Peer Reviews to ensure the Project Quality requirements are being met.

The Candidate:
You will be a Quality Engineer with a Mechanical background coming ideally from a Defence or Aerospace sector.
You will have at least 5-10 years’ experience and qualified to HND/Degree level.
You must be able to read and interpret 2D drawings effectively. Unigraphics NX 3D CAD system user, release 7.5 would be beneficial. Experience with Siemens Teamcenter PDM system is also preferred.
You will have knowledge & experience of Quality Management Systems. (ISO9001, AQAP, AS91 00)
You will have excellent communication skills – written & oral.
