Quality Inspector

Quality Inspector (Mechanical) – 6 month contract £330.00 / day – London (Woolwich)
KEY SKILLS: Quality Inspection, Site Supervision, Mechanical, ISO 90001.


The Role:
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager as Quality Inspector (Mechanical) you will take out site inspections and surveillance of construction operations and witness that it is compliant and construction defect free.
Duties will include:
Monitoring the works as they progress and undertake inspections prior to client witness points.
Checking that sampled works have an approved method statement and Inspection and Test Plans (ITP).
Checking that the sampled materials used in the works have been approved.
Checking that any test personnel are competent to carry out the tests.
Carry out site supervision and monitor the quality control process.
Advising on whether NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) must be raised if defective work cannot be completed within the same shift.
Assisting with providing evidence in relation to raising or closing NCRs.
Providing summary reports to the Quality Manager and Delivery Manager of key issues arising from the witnessed inspections. 
Assisting with undertaking internal audits as per the audit schedule where appropriate.

The Candidate:
You will be a Quality Inspector – Mechanical ideally a Member of the Institute of Clerk of Works or Chartered Institute of Building.
You will have at least 10 years’ experience, knowledge of the construction industry with experience of working on multi-discipline engineering construction projects.
You will have a good understanding of construction techniques specifications and drawings, particularly in relation to architectural works, i.e. building envelopes and internal fit out.
You will be an experienced inspector with surveillance and internal audit experience.
Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be experienced in report writing.
experience in a Quality Assurance delivery with an understanding of ISO 90001, safety and environmental legislation is desirable.
As per the amended intermediaries’ legislation (IR35); this assignment is deemed to be a Public Sector off Payroll Assignment inside IR35 for Tax and NI.

This assignment therefore can only be offered via; a tax compliant Umbrella Company or on a PAYE basis.
