Risk Manager - £400/day - 5 months - Contract - London

The Role:
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Risk Manager with at least 5-10 years experience.
Duties will include:
Working with the integrated Programme Management Office which coordinates the delivery and associated PPM services of HS2 Ltd.
To develop an integrated risk management strategy for the programme, ensuring that departmental requirements are incorporated.
Promoting best practice in the management of risks, issues and reporting in order to enhance existing team capabilities.
Maintenance of HSR Group's content in DfT's Management Information (MI) database.
Seeking clearance for draft reports from the DG HSR Group and acting as the point of contact for commissions from the centre.
Operation of the reporting cycle, taking account of the requirements of HSR Group, DfT centre, HS2 Ltd and the IPMO.
Management of the collection, assurance, aggregation and distillation of project data from the directorates.
Development of accurate and appropriately presented DfT programme level reports for various stakeholders.
Preparation and assurance of DfT data for the HS2 programme dashboard.


The Candidate:
You will be a highly organised Risk Manager - able to deal with multiple demands in a time-pressured environment.
Understanding of the purpose of a programme management office and knowledge of PMO services, including planning, change control, benefits management, information management, and in particular a detailed understanding of risk and issue management and project and programme level reporting systems.
Strong content assurance skills, encompassing a very high level of attention to detail.
Able to identify and challenge issues with content, e.g. project risk registers not aligning with project highlight reporting.
You will be able to review supplied inputs for programme level reporting and risk & issue registers through the lens of senior stakeholders and board members. 
Able to negotiate and project manage adjustments to presentation, messaging and tone.
As an experienced Risk Manager you will be able to build strong relationships across the programme team, and with wider stakeholders.
Proficient in use of MS Office is ESSENTIAL.
