Highways/Traffic Engineer; London - Long Term Interim role development of traffic management to major project.

The Project:
Opportunity to work on the Thames Tideway Tunnel Project, delivering the 25 kilometre sewer tunnel needed to prevent an average 20 million tonnes each year of untreated sewage discharging into the tidal River Thames in London.

The Role:
Our client requires a Highways/Traffic Engineer to assist in the development and approvals of Traffic Management Schemes (TMS) to the Thames Tideway Project.

Duties will include:
Providing assistance in the development and approvals of Traffic Management Schemes (TMS) with the Contractor on behalf of the Consents Team, to ensure consistency in Contractor approach across all of the worksites in the Area to achieve a 'right first time' submission for stakeholder consultation and approval.

The monitoring of the Contractors’ traffic and logistics consenting and commitments compliance arrangements and activities, taking a lead in dealing effectively with key stakeholders involved in the discharging and approval of planning consents in relation to highways, traffic and logistics.

You will interface with the Delivery Area Team, Project Construction Integration Team, Systems Integrator Team, Project Environmental and Health & safety Teams and External Stakeholders (Transport for London, Local Planning & Highway Authorities and Local Working Groups).

The Candidate:
You will have experience in dealing with external and internal stakeholders in a professional manner, in particular with Local Authority Highways departments.
You must have proven organisational skills.
You should have a high standard of writing and reporting capability.
You will be a member of a professional body e.g. CILT, IHT, ICE.
