Safety Case Manager - 12months - Devonport - Rate c£60-£80/hr umb

Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Babcock Naval Marine in order to recruit a Safety Case Manager. Working on a 12 month contract based at Devonport Plymouth.
As a Safety Case Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
Lead, deliver and co-ordinate production of a Licensable Facility Safety Case to demonstrate that acceptance criteria have been met and risks have been reduced ALARP.
Ensure Safety Case covers breadth of required production activities and advise on measures to reduce the production restrictions arising from CLOSOs.
Plan for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project’s technical planning process for safety deliverables.
Ensure effective Quality Management Arrangements operate and deliver through compliance with Babcock’s Business Management System and Technical Manual.
Ensure that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.
Ensure that staff and contractors under their control are familiar with the hazards and risks associated with the work undertaken by the delegated engineering team through effective management and communication of the Risk Assessment.
Ensure Safety information is articulated to the Design Manager/s to enable appropriate justification of the engineering / activities within the Facility Safety Case.
Liaise with Engineering Services Core Nuclear Safety Team to ensure that Relevant Good Practice is employed.
 
 
Candidate:
Academic
A degree in an appropriate engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer, registered with Engineering Council.
Nuclear
NUC0793 Nuclear Plant Foundation Course  Module 1;
NUC0794 Nuclear Fundamentals (Foundation) Course Module 2;
NUC0911 Introduction to Safety Engineering.
NUC0912 Safety Engineering Technical Fundamentals
H&S Core Training•
Appropriate H&S Training; IOSH or similar agreed.
Local: Sound understanding and application of relevant:
Industry legislation;
Industry Codes and Standards;
Category A Nuclear Safety Engineering Practices 
Safety Case Management, planning and budgetary control
Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements;
BIM;
 
Skills: 
Strong team leadership, technical leadership, communications and interpersonal skills;
Project Management;
Comprehensive editorial and briefing skills;
Clear spoken and written English;
Numerate and computer literate;
 
Experience•
Significant experience in the technical management of large scale and complex nuclear safety case development throughout the design lifecycle
Experience of safety case development for refit/repair of nuclear submarines
Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements
Sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience.
