Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side the MOD to recruit a Safety Engineer on a 6 month contract based in Bristol.
As a Safety Engineer your duties and responsibilities will include:
Specialisms Required
Through Life Safety and Environmental Protection Planning, Management and reporting.
Defence Regulations.
Authoring technical documentation.
Defence Safety Management Systems.
Safety Case Management and Reporting.
Safety Legislation, Regulation, Conventions and defence policy.
Hazard Log Management.
Compliance Management.
Functional Safety
Experience with Communications Equipment, Vehicle Platforms and Ground based ISTAR (Desirable)

DT Brief Description An Acquisition Safety and Environmental Protection (ASEP) Subject Matter Expert is required to support the Special Projects Tactical Communications Delivery Team (SPTC DT)

Experience required in delivering safety and environmental artefacts.
Experience required in safety case reports and hazard logs.

DT Detailed Description
To work within an ITS-SED multi-discipline Acquisition Safety and Environmental Protection (ASEP) team. Operating as an effective MOD ASEP manager.

The Applicant will be required to:
Lead with safety and environmental protection activities for a portfolio of projects at various stages of the project lifecycle (primarily COTS/MOTS and modified equipment).
Provide SME advice and support to the team, towards the development of Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs), whether contracted out to industry or being developed in house.
Operate in accordance with and demonstrate compliance against applicable legislation and MoD policy.
Adhere to and continually develop the SPTC Safety and Environmental Management System (SEMS).
Maintain configuration control of Safety documentation and update action status in the SPTC Safety Tracker.
Report any safety concerns or issues to the SPTC Safety and Environmental Management Committee (SEMC).
Produce S&E artefacts including but not limited to:
Safety Case Reports
Environmental Case Reports
Technical Dossiers
Safety and Environmental Management Plans
Input into Statements of Work (SOWs)for contracts.

Attend and lead with Project Safety and Environmental Panels, including the development of summary reports and minutes.

The Safety Manager shall be the DT focal point. As a result, will be required to represent the DT at required safety engagements, including regulatory interface, and have the ability to brief up and down.

The Safety Manager will be responsible for the day to day activity, delivering against agreed activity and tasks.

Candidate:
You will be an experienced Safety / Mechanical Engineer.
5-10 years experience.
HNC / HND / Degree.
