The Role:
In what are exciting openings with the Safety Services Group (SSG) within Babcock Marine, two Senior Safety Engineers with nuclear submarine experience are required; essential to the technical delivery of the Babcock Marine outputs under the Maritime Support Delivery Framework (MSDF) contract.

Duties will involve:
The successful Senior Safety Engineers will;
Support the SSG Safety Engineering Manager in the management of SSG project delivery, including task/project identification, definition, delivery, budget management & cost control and stakeholder liaison.
Project manage/conduct Safety Services Group projects as directed by the SSG Safety Engineering Manager.
Assess and provide advice to the MoD on submarine material state issues by way of the production of submarine Safety Summary Reports.
Support the SSG Safety Engineering Manager in the delivery of safety engineering outputs, participating in activities in areas such as design change, Naval Authority Certification and safety assessment of submarine systems & equipment.
Provide technical review of contracted outputs, ensuring the correct level of quality is achieved.

The Candidate:
MUST HAVE SECURITY CHECK (SC) CLEARANCE
Will ideally be degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, though a lesser formal qualification such as HNC may be accepted if backed up with appropriate experience.
Will be professionally qualified to incorporated engineer level with an appropriate technical institution.

Experience of naval nuclear reactor plant, ship systems and operations are highly desirable.
Possess knowledge submarine design, support or operations.
Hold extensive experience of the application of Safety and Risk management techniques.
Have experience in the application of the requirements of JSP 430/ Def Stan 00-56 or similar methodologies.
