6 - month contract for a Senior Structural Engineer working on public sector properties, schools, residential and office buildings ranging in value from £5k to approximately £1m– based in Manchester. Rate: £Neg

The Role:
The works comprises school and housing extensions / new build and refurbishment, demolition / remediation, miscellaneous structural appraisals, structural repairs / solutions to the public building stock; circa 350 buildings.
Producing designs, drawings and specifications in accordance with all current codes of practice.
Carry out risk assessments required by CDM 2015 legislation.
Carry out structural / defect analysis surveys on a wide variety of buildings, establish their cause and provide recommendations all in the form of a report with supporting design and drawings.
Undertake Right to Buy Surveys and legal surveys and provide reports and recommendations; acting as expert witness as required.
Project manage the design, the works on site and defects period as required for either stand-alone projects or as lead engineer for a multi-disciplinary team.
Co-ordinate all designs, drawings and programme tasks for each scheme.

The Candidate:
Ideally be a chartered engineer or have equivalent qualification.
Experience in the analysis of client requirements / developing client briefs.
Structural engineering design and project delivery skills in the built environment.
Knowledge and experience of contract administration, use of change control procedures and documentation, negotiation and dispute resolution in the construction industry environment.
A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience.
