Senior Commercial Manager

Senior Commercial Manager (Petro-Retail): Central London, Permanent – Salary: c£55k/annum

The Role:

Management, control and development of the commercial team working a major petroleum retail client account.

Duties will involve:
As the Commercial Manager you will be placed between both the client and project delivery teams acting as the commercial interface. Additionally, you will be handling; the programme budget (c£45m), writing on assets & reporting to the fixed assets team, fees, invoicing, and internal/external meetings with the team/contractors.
Procurement activities and value improvement initiatives will also fall under your remit.
You will be based in the London office but will be expected to travel both throughout the UK and abroad as part of your duties.

The Candidate: 
You will possess the following qualifications and experience;

Degree or higher in a relevant field
Recent post-graduate experience in petroleum retail engineering and/or project management
UKPIA qualified and SPA Safety Passport holder

In addition, you will also be able to demonstrate the following;
•Prior management of forecourts and associated upgrades with a top-tier petroleum retailer
•Large programme (200+ projects) monthly accrual forecasts and budget reconciliations
•Capital/operating expenditure reporting including tax implications
•Comprehensive Health & Safety understanding, covering deep excavations, hot works, working at height and confined space works, as well as MSDSs, JHAs and SWMs
•Significant procurement/supply chain knowledge including dealing with international suppliers
•Use of invoicing software to process invoices, payments and generate POs etc.
•LEAN training
•Excellent computer and software skills, particularly MS Excel (incl. authoring macros), SharePoint, Office and AX.
•Organised and methodical, with particular attention to detail
•Have a pragmatic approach and possess strong problem-solving techniques
•Be commercially aware
•Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships at all levels with clients and employees alike, across all professional disciplines
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with an ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy.
