Senior Cost Engineer, 12months, Cross rail project

The Role:
Senior Cost Engineer to be responsible for the analysis and reporting of the cost status of construction works on the Cross Rail Project.
You will work closely with contractor(s); assessing contractor dashboards and making recommendations where appropriate.
You will be responsible for briefing the Project Manager and Project Business Manager on the cost status of the works and anticipated final costs through to completion.
In addition you will be responsible for co-ordinating the implementation and day to day operation of the Crossrail Project Change/Trend Program within the project.

Raising records and reporting trends. Co-ordinating weekly and 4 weekly Trend Meetings. Monitoring the timely raising and resolution of trends.
Utilisation of the Trend Database, to progress the resolution of trends via weekly trend meetings at project/site level in order to update the AFC. Co-ordinating and reviewing the forecast of deliverables on a 24 weekly revision cycle.

The Candidate:
You will be qualified to Bachelor degree level or equivalent, preferably in engineering or construction management or quantity surveying. You will have a detailed working knowledge of cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.
You will have extensive construction experience in an infrastructure environment as a Cost Engineer and /or Quantity Surveyor.

In addition you should have experience in the following:
Experience of identifying, analysing, and solving problems.
Knowledge of engineering, procurement and forms of contracts.
Knowledge of engineering and construction management.
Experience of forecasting, scheduling techniques and risk analysis.
Experience of Earned Value Management.
Cost Control/Management
Budget Management
