The Role:
Our client Ricardo UK requires a Senior Design Engineer to work closely with the Chief Designer to take ownership of a particular engine system.
The role will be assisting the Engineering Manager in coaching other Design Engineers to develop design skills and work to the department processes.
Duties will include:
Detailed mechanical design work including 3D modelling, basic stress calculations, FMSA's, 2D layouts, 2D detailing.
Tolerance stacks as required.
Agreeing the design approach with the project Chief or Lead Designer.
Preparing and presenting mechanical designs at design reviews.
Responsible for at least 2 sub-ordinates. Guiding their career path and caring out PDR's if required.

The Candidate:
Will be a Senior Design Engineer with a degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Will have experience designing complex engine components.
Will have experience in using NX.
Has competent CAD skills with two or more CAD systems (CERO, CATIA, NX).
Will be a competent user of Windchill PLM Systems.
Will understand and produce technical drawings to high standard with GD&T competency.
