Senior Drainage Engineer – South Yorkshire - £36/hr – 3month plus – Contract

The Role:
Our client is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Senior Drainage Engineer with experience working as the responsible Lead Local Flood Authorities representative or with previous experience of working within a local Authority Drainage team.
You will use technical knowledge and experience of flood risk assessment development work to review designs to drainage and flood alleviation schemes.
Evaluate and provide advice on planning applications in relation to surface water management. 
Assist the service group in preparation and adoption of flood risk management strategies.
Liaise with and give advice to other council services, consulting engineers, civil engineering contractors, developers and the general public on matters relating to flood risk and drainage solutions.
Assist in the advising on and the management of local flood risks. LLFA is to ‘develop, maintain, apply and monitor a Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS)’.
Responsible for the resolution of planning conditions.

The Candidate:
You will have a Degree / HNC in Civil Engineering, Flood Risk Engineering or appropriate degree.
Member or working to Membership of ICE or CIWEM
You will have 5+ years’ experience, post qualification in Flood Risk Engineering & Assessment, Sustainable Urban Drainage Design and Planning.
You will have experience in delivering flood risk, river and drainage related improvements and projects.
You will have the ability to use Microsoft office applications and also has experience in using and interpolating AutoCAD drawings and industry standard software packages such as Micro Drainage, Infoworks and HydroWorks.
You will have the ability to write and present technical reports 
You will have excellent communication skills both written and oral.
You will have experience working with Local Authorities.
