Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side a local consultancy in order to recruit a Senior Estates MangerWFH / Manchester.
As a Senior Estates Manager your duties and responsibilities will include:
We are looking for an experienced estates strategy manager for our Corporate Estates Team to head up the Estates Strategy Team on an interim basis, initially for a period of 6 months. This is a busy operational role providing support to Council departments to meet their operational property needs.

Skills and Experience:

Working at a management level in a large and complex organisation managing property issues, people, budgets, and projects.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders, including officers, elected members and the voluntary/community sector to ensure their property needs are understood and met.
Able to manage, develop and leading a team to drive forward changes to the estate, including resolving day to day operational property management issues, and responding to stakeholder enquires.
A chartered estate surveyor ( FRICS/MRICS qualified) (with experience of landlord and tenant matters, including negotiating leases, licenses, and other property transactions.
Able to commission property and construction related services.
A proactive problem solver.
Must be able to communicate with service teams and translate their needs into both property and estate support service needs.
Able to balance commercial agendas with front line service delivery.
Must have from a client-side perspective a good knowledge of estate management and surrounding legislation.

About the Service:

Manchester City Council has around 350 operational properties that it occupies to provide services to residents, ranging from offices, libraries and leisure centres to depots, community centres and park buildings.
The Corporate Estates and Facilities Service is responsible for the management of the operational estate and delivery of all estates and facilities related services.
The Estates Service acts as the ‘Corporate Landlord’ and manages the operational estate to support the quality of services provided by the organisation and its partners, reduce costs, reduce carbon emissions, support new ways of working, strengthen community activity, and ensure the estate remains safe and accessible.
The service includes:
A Property Strategy Team, who act as the main day to day contacts for Council services in relation to operational property, carries out property management activity, supports community asset transfers, and deals with operational land issues.
An Asset Management Team, who support the Councils annual Asset Management Programme of capital maintenance.
A CPAD and Records team who manage the Councils asset and records database and property management system.
An Estate Transformation Team who acts as client project managers for capital projects and manage staff relocations within the estate.
The wider service includes the Facilities Management Service, who are responsible for planned and preventative maintenance, security, and housekeeping services across the estate.
The teams also work closely with the Health and safety team around statutory compliance including fire risk assessments and asbestos management.
Capital building works are commissioned from and delivered by the Council’s Capital Programmes team.
The service works alongside other Council teams, including the Development and Investment Team, who manage the Investment Estate (i.e., the Council’s commercial property interests), oversee the development of council land and buildings across the city, and manage the contract with Jacobs, who deliver a range of property services on behalf of the Council.
The service also works with colleagues in planning, strategic housing and across the Growth and Development Directorate to support major transformational and development projects where they overlap with operational properties.
