The Role:
Senior Hydraulic Modeller (Fluvial) to work on a range of projects with the focus of building and applying hydraulic modelling on a range of river / flood-risk projects. 

Duties will include:
Fluvial hydraulic modelling ensuring models meet the needs of clients.
Identifying and implementing hydrological and hydraulic solutions.
Supervising the delivery of hydrological and hydraulic analyses to time and budget.
Providing technical governance in hydrological and hydraulic analyses ensuring deliverables meet the needs of clients. 
Identifying and delivering technical innovation in order to improve efficiency of delivery.
Ensuring effective dissemination of the latest methodologies and tools.
Support to delivery teams to communicate technical hydrological analyses to internal and external clients through verbal and written communications. 

The Candidate: 
You will have Bachelor degree in earth sciences/environmental science /civil engineering or allied subjects

In addition, your experience will include the following:
Demonstrable technical expertise in hydrological and fluvial hydraulic analyses with supervision of more junior colleagues. 
Extensive experience in the management and analysis of large geographical and numerical data sets and an understanding of statistical analytical tools. 
A keen interest in working with 1d and 2d modelling (ideally including Floodmodeller and TUFLOW) and the application of industry standard GIS software.
Experience in technical review of work by others, ideally in peer review capacity, and in provision of constructive advice.
Commercial awareness and evidence of ability to deliver projects to time and budget.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and confidence in client-facing situations.
A solid understanding of the UK regulatory framework for flood risk and water resource management.
