Overview:
Wilde Recruitment Ltd are working along side Cavendish Nuclear in order to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC/VENT) to work on a 12 month contract based at Westlakes.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer (HVAC / VENT) your responsibilities and duties will include:
Essential experience – Design and Specification of Nuclear Vent Systems
Submarine environment experience ideal
10yrs or more Nuclear Experience
SC clearance
UK national or dual passport holder not on the ITAR proscribed countries list.
Knowledge of legislation, standards, CE Marking and CDM.
Identify appropriate standards (BS &ISO etc.)
Autodesk Inventor 2018
Autodesk Vault 2018
Drawing production, Verify drawings, models, design base documentation, specifications and technical reports.
Can present at Designers Risk Assessments, Design Reviews and similar technical meetings.
Experience in the technical supervision of staff within discipline.
Produce documentation: DRA, CDM Risk Assessment, Functional Requirements doc, DPDs/Gas, MFDs, MSDs, Test specs, NFR, TQ,
Conduct optioneering/down-selection (RAG analysis)
Understand ALARP
Scope/Team management (time/resource)
Undertake functional estimates.
Chair Designers Risk Assessments, Design Reviews and similar technical meetings.
Experience to evaluate sub-contractor bids offering suggestions for cost reductions and delivery acceleration – whilst maintaining good working relationships.
Conduct Site surveys
Experience of crane / lifting beam design and the use of equipment for the safe raising or lowering of loads. Including lifts, hoists, Mobile Elevating Work Platforms, vehicle inspection platform hoists and lifting accessories.
Experience of bogie design.
Safety Case Experience, Safety Cases, hazard and fault identification, attendance / presentation at HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Studies)
Production of Technical Specifications i.e. Manufacturing / Procurement, Functional / Operational.
Production of Design Justification Reports (DJR), Design Assessment Reports (DAR), Design Substantiation Reports (DSR).
Production of Operational and Maintenance Manuals (O&M).
Production of scoping calculations.
Working knowledge of LOLER, PWER, Machinery’s Directive
Experience of Mechanical Handling systems
Has experience and understanding of Nuclear Ventilation Containment Systems – Design
Knowledge of shielding design.

Candidate:
You will be a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
5-10 years experience.
Nuclear

Submarines.
