Senior Mechanical Engineer - Exciting long term contract in Nuclear industry based at Dounreay

The Role:
Our client requires a Senior Mechanical Engineer for nuclear projects at Dounreay in Thurso, Scotland (Highlands), to manage and deliver the engineering process, providing technical oversight and engineering quality. You will control and develop technical engineering strategies, plans and procedures and identify resource requirements to deliver engineering tasks. As Senior Mechanical Engineer you will manage the preparation, approval and issue of technical specifications and identify, validate and approve engineering solutions for projects. You will support the Project Manager in delivery of projects/programmes of work, sanction approvals and validate the completion of activities to ensure compliance with procedures, legislation and quality standards. You will be required to integrate health, safety, environmental and waste management processes with engineering activities taking advice where necessary from appropriate specialists and establish and maintain Design Authority arrangements.

The Candidate:
You must be a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
You should be educated to degree standard or equivalent based on Engineering Council Standard for Incorporated Engineers.
You should have Nuclear industry experience.
