Senior Planning Engineer: excellent contract opportunity to work in Birmingham

The Role
Our client requires a Senior Planning Engineer with an expert understanding of Primavera P6, to develop and communicate the project work plan and prepare, analyse and forecast project schedules. You will be working at a Senior level to the project team relating to smart motorway schemes in Birmingham, covering all project scope from major civils and ITS. You will act as coordination lead for the production of schedule summary reports, discussing programme/project progress, critical issue, impact and mitigation. You will be required to update schedules with actual progress and forecast remaining durations, project milestones and completion dates. As Senior Planner you will develop, implement and monitor earned value systems that accurately measure progress and supervise the development and issue of accurate and timely project labour hour forecasts. You will produce %complete using a resource loaded P6 schedule.

The Candidate
You will be a Senior Planner with a minimum of 10 years progressive experience with increasing responsibility.
You will have vast experience of Primavera P6 and expert planning and scheduling knowledge.
You must be degree qualified in construction management, engineering or project management.
You should have active membership in AACE, PMI or similar association.
You will understand EPC/full-service, program and JV/consortium project delivery processes for multiple industries.
You should demonstrate effective leadership skills, in the execution of project controls activities.
You must be proficient with spreadsheets, word processing software, databases and report writers.
You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
