2 year Contract opportunity for a Signal Sighting Engineer to be based at Newport or Bristol on Network Rail projects.

The Role:
Supporting the signal sighting committee with the set-up and delivery of a virtual reality signal sighting model.
Support the convene signal sighting committee meetings as required in connection with signal major and minor works schemes.
Support the engineering data management team with modeling or verification/validation or quality assurance exercises.
Planning and undertaking signal sighting inspections and assessments in compliance with Network Rail’s company standards and procedures.
Review standards relating to signal sighting. Identify the necessary actions for complying with new or revised standards & implement on the territory. Challenge standards to confirm whether technical and procedural content is reasonably practical and efficient and recommend changes. Identify and recommend non-compliance for individual projects & submit to Engineering.
Production, monitoring and sign-off of signal sighting forms is carried out appropriately and that appropriate signal sighting records are maintained.
Monitor compliance with relevant competence standards, particularly in respect of projects and minor works activities, and address any shortcomings.
Identify opportunities for innovation to improve signal sighting.

The Candidate:
 Signal Sighting experience, ideally with Bentley products (e.g. Bentley's Signal Sighting tool)
 5 years rail sector experience
 Degree qualified preferred but not essential
 Chartered engineer preferred but not essential
Working knowledge of Microstation and/or other authoring tools
 Familiarity with working within a ProjectWise environment is essential
