The Role:
Our client Babcock / MOD is actively looking to recruit a number of Spatial Assessors to work on a long term contract basis based in Barrow in Furness.
The role has two main parts; Design Reviews and Provision of Subject Matter Expertise (SME).
Duties as a Spatial Assessor may include:
Providing specialist support-related expertise and analysis capabilities to the evolving design of the Submarine design, with the aim of reducing support demands and ensuring that the optimum information is available.
Production of Major Area Spatial / CDD Assessments and related documentation.
Management of SQEP based Through-Life Support Enquiries. 
Coordinating and managing the Submarine design and development to ensure optimisation of Support Solutions in line with the identified ILS and ARM requirements. 
Escalating concerns, Issues and Risks using the appropriate management tool. 
Coordinating and managing the ‘Through Life Support’ activities of the nominated Major Areas and observing the interface boundaries with the Mechanical and Electrical Systems.

The Candidate:
Will be degree qualified in an Engineering / Technical discipline OR have qualified with the Royal Navy as a Submariner Engineer Officer/Engineering Technician (SSBN preferred).
You would ideally have 5-10years experience - connected to Submarines / Ships / Frigates etc.
 You will have an understanding of ARM and ILS methodologies, including an awareness of the appropriate Defence Standards.
Ideally you will have extensive experience in the ‘In-Service’ Support arena, with a sound knowledge of HM submarine operation, submarine systems operation, maintenance and support requirements; 
with the Mechanical and Electrical Systems.
Experienced in planning, implementation and control of programmes. 
Develop close working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
