Structural CAD Technician - Contract 12 months+ - £Neg - Plymouth - Fixed Term Contract

The Role:
Experienced structural CAD technicians are required to join a team engaged on prestigious international maritime defence projects.　
Working within the design team you will be responsible for the planning and production of drawings and associated documentation in support of design projects.
Preparation / production of working drawings. (structural fabrication drawings).
Assist production / test groups with the compilation of test forms / procedures.　
Develop innovative design solutions.

The Candidate:
You should have a basic understanding of the 'Through Life' documentation support requirements of the Ministry of Defence.　
Have 5-10 years experience of structural steelwork environment.　
Have an understanding of engineering principles within structural steelwork, welding, fabrication, steelwork etc).
Who will this suit?
This role is ideally suited to someone from a marine / ship building / offshore / topsides / MOD / submarine background who has possibly worked at VSEL, BAE, Harland & Wolff, SLP, Vickers etc.
A CAD draughtsman with 5 years experience gained producing structural steelwork drawings.
The role is based in Plymouth and is offered on a fixed term contract basis with attractive remuneration (telephone to discuss).
Note: due to the nature of the projects undertaken these positions are restricted to UK nationals only. We are unable to consider applications from dual nationals.
Candidates must hold or be able to obtain security clearance.
NB the client is willing to sponsor suitable candidates for security clearance.
