DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: FRIDAY 15TH MARCH @ 1200
In what is a fantastic contract opportunity, the MoD’s Information Systems business unit requires a Technical Author for at least the next twelve months; crafting superlative technical reports and manuals, from source material and references of a technical nature.
Duties will involve:
The successful Technical Author will;
Analyse and adapt technical documents to make sure they are written to local and industry standards;
Produce concise and accurate manuals or handbooks from a variety of source information, including but not limited to: engineering data, system specifications and technical diagrams;
Be responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of each publication;
Work with internal teams to obtain an understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
Due to the sensitive nature of the subject matter involved, candidates will require active Security Check (SC) clearance.
In addition, you’ll ideally have;
Experience in creating technical documents in a defence and information management area is beneficial;
Good working knowledge of IT equipment and systems;
Ability to interpret basic technical data;
Good analytical and problem-solving skills;
Excellent documentation skills with working knowledge of MS Office and 365 software;
The ability to express instructions clearly and briefly in simple English, and is appropriate for its intended audience.
