The Role:
We are seeking a number of Traffic/Transportation Engineers and Technicians to work within an existing Traffic and Transportation team providing assistance in the preparation of business cases for a number of major and prestigious, cycling and pedestrian schemes; the development of these schemes and other projects from inception through to delivery.

Duties may include: 
To identify hazards, completion of risk assessments and compilation of briefs for detail design of projects ensuring all works are completed in accordance with health & safety legislation.
To develop and deliver a range of highways and transportation schemes of various types and sizes including; consultations, inspections, investigations, feasibility studies, strategies, design and construction.
Preparation of tender/contract documentation.
Administration of projects including preparations of programmes and tracking of progress and spend.
Developing and maintaining effective internal and external stakeholder relationships including councillors, the public, consultants, contractors and private developers.
Researching, analysing and interpreting a range of data including asset data held in GIS to aid compliance with the Council’s policies, procedures and past practises.

The Candidate:
You will be an experienced Traffic/Highways engineer qualified to HNC/Degree level in a relevant subject.

You will have previous experience of some or all of the following:
The development of briefs for detail design
The identification, preparation, prioritization of works programs
Project /budget management including reviews and production of initial works programs
Design of schemes
Preparation of highway cost estimates
Letter and technical report writing
The assessment, design and project management of traffic management proposals
The Implementation of traffic regulation orders
Production and assessment of Traffic Impact Assessments
Area, junction and route assessments

Proficiency in some or all of the following Software desirable: AutoCAD, AutoSign, KeyLines, AutoTrack, Parkmap, SignPlot and Microsoft Office.
